In Major League Cricket 2026, a mighty all-round effort from Los Angeles Knight Riders saw the Seattle Orcas swept aside by 81 runs. With the bat and ball, Knight Riders so far have delivered and put up an excellent score after which they clearly smashed through the Orcas batting lineup for one of the biggest wins of this tournament.

They were able to begin the innings as they meant to go in, attacking from the beginning after being asked to bat first by Los Angeles. Andre Fletcher at the top of the innings played an aggressive knock, right from the start putting Seattle bowlers under pressure. His approach with other batsmen in the middle order was to always rotate strike and keep the scoreboard ticking at a good rate.

For a change, the middle overs received further impetus from Rovman Powell who played some shots after striking a couple of boundaries cleanly deep into his innings. A brisk knock from the middle order ensured Los Angeles seized and maintained control of the contest, with some added assistance from other batters propelling the side towards a defending total. Jason Holder too provided important runs towards the end as the Knight Riders finished on a total of 196.

It was a tough ask the chasm they needed to cross and Seattle Orcas could never build a credible partnership. They were under immediate pressure with early wickets pushing the batters to take risks against tight bowling. Their bowlers bowled well, kept it at good lengths and lines and gave no momentum to the Orcas.

Jason Holder, after a heroic performance against RCB with the bat, took the ball and showed his worth. He was economical and used his variations well to pick important wickets. The rest of the bowling attack backed him up excellently, picking wickets regularly and keeping Seattle well behind the pace rate.

With wickets tumbling with no resistance, the hope of a fightback crumbled for the Orcas. Their batsmen were unable to capitalize on getting in with the required run rate just continuing to rise. Every chance was embraced in the field to support their bowlers, agile catching and lively ground fielding.

Seattle were finally dismissed for 115 leaving Los Angeles to secure a convincing 81-run victory. The win was a reflection of growing confidence and an increasingly balanced squad at KKR. Putting together a complete team performance, it was characterised by top-order aggression, supported by the middle-order and partly complemented by disciplined bowling.

Los Angeles Knight Riders retained their hold atop the table and sent a strong statement to all other teams with this formidable performance while it was back to the drawing board for Seattle Orcas after a disappointing outing.
