Cricket Ireland has named Ed Joyce as their High Performance Batting Coach, beginning September 28, 2026. Joyce will work with the Ireland Men’s senior squad as well as the male talent route in his new post, which begins immediately.
Ed Joyce has extensive playing experience to the job. He represented Ireland 151 times, amassing 5,552 runs at an average of 40.82, including 10 centuries and 29 half-centuries. He also represented England on 19 occasions during his career, gaining experience at the top level of the game on both sides of the international divide.
Joyce transitioned from playing to coaching and was named Head Coach of Ireland Women in 2019, one year after quitting from the sport. He left that job in February 2025, and his return to Cricket Ireland’s coaching system will see him focus on the men’s program.
