Two talented fast bowlers, Mayank Yadav and Prince Yadav, have been called up and chosen for the game. They are both on the team. Both players fit the style of fast attack that India is working on for this event. Indian and West Indian teams will play five Twenty20 Internationals starting on October 6 in Lucknow.
India’s bowling coach, Morne Morkel, looked at both players’ progress before the series. As both bowlers continue their international careers, Morkel pointed out that they are still young and learning. He also talked about how important attitude and work ethic are to their growth.
I think about Mayank Yadav a lot: Morkel
On October 6, 2024, Mayank Yadav played his first T20I match against Bangladesh. Since then, he has played in six T20Is, with the most recent one being on July 23, 2026, against Zimbabwe. Because of problems that make it hard for him to play, Mayank Yadav has only played in five more Twenty20 Internationals in the two years since his first game. Morkel admitted that Mayank Yadav was a very good bowler. Morkel praised Mayank Yadav’s determination to play cricket for India again after injuries set him back.

His most recent T20I was on July 25, 2026, against Zimbabwe. Morkel stressed how hard the players worked and how persistent they were.
When we have players, we’re spoilt: Morkel
When managing young players in different formats and domestic seasons, the coaching staff has to deal with some unique issues. Morkel talked about how hard it is to keep things consistent when players have to play in the Indian Premier League, local cricket, and foreign games.
