Mitchell Santner, New Zealand’s captain, believes Bhuvneshwar Kumar will pose a serious threat in the forthcoming five-match T20I series, which begins on October 22 at Hagley Oval in Christchurch. Bhuvneshwar returns to the T20I squad after a nearly four-year absence, adding experience to India’s pace attack alongside Varun Chakravarthy, who is returning from injury.
Mitchell Santner talked ahead of the series’ first match, which will be contested in four cities over the course of 11 days.
India’s captain, Shreyas Iyer, leads the touring squad, which features Abhishek Sharma, Ishan Kishan, and other prominent players. The series continues until November 1 and features locations in a variety of circumstances across New Zealand.
Shreyas Iyer also emphasized Bhuvneshwar’s importance to the Indian squad. The India skipper stated that Bhuvneshwar adds tremendous expertise to the pace department, which was an area where India felt it needed strengthening during the IPL. Iyer cited Bhuvneshwar’s recent tournament triumph as evidence of his expertise in the T20 format.

New Zealand is well aware of India’s batting strength. The last time these two sides met was in the T20 World Cup final in March, when blazing half-centuries from Sanju Samson, Abhishek Sharma, and Ishan Kishan propelled India to a total of 255 and a 96-run victory. Aside from these three, India has the precocious genius of Vaibhav Sooryavanshi to rely on.
