The Jamaica Kingsmen qualified to the CPL 2026 final after a dramatic 5-wicket victory over the Guyana Amazon Warriors in Qualifier 2 in Bridgetown. In the postseason game, Rovman Powell’s game-winning inning enabled the Kingsmen score 207 runs. Powell’s squad triumphed and advanced to the final against the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons thanks to his outstanding hitting in the dying moments.
Rovman Powell had a fantastic cameo, smashing two fours and four sixes to finish undefeated on 40 from only 17 deliveries. He shared Player of the Match honors with Shimron Hetmyer, whose unbeaten century had laid the groundwork for the victorious chase. Hetmyer scored his second century of the 2026 CPL season, 102 off 45 balls.
Rovman Powell also acknowledged that the Amazon Warriors, who won eight of their ten regular-season games to lead the league, posed a challenge. The Warriors are formidable opponents, having advanced to the finals of the previous three CPL seasons and winning the league in 2023. Despite their dominance in the league, the Warriors lost the elimination match.

Because of his aggressive style, he was able to capitalize on the opportunities created by the opposing bowlers.

Despite being criticized in previous games, Hetmyer produced when it mattered the most for his country. Powell recognized the mental toughness required to recuperate and perform at the highest level in such a rigorous environment.
