Rajasthan Royals staged comebacks to win some of the most exhilarating run chases in IPL 2026 by defeating Lucknow Super Giants with three wickets in a high-scoring game played at Jaipur. This match turned into a headline in the cricket world due to a blistering knock by 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi who scored an astonishing 93 runs off just 38 balls helping RR to a memorable victory.

Lucknow Super Giants, batting first posted the colossal total of 220 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Their openers were aggressive from ball one and constantly found the boundary. The middle-order batters also had a strong finish, pushing the team past 220. At that point, it seemed like LSG were dominating the match as they defended a massive total in a crucial league encounter.

But who remembers that, because while the chase was happening, Rajasthan Royals came out with all guns blazing. A confidence-filled innings from young Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, a calm head, clean hitting and taking all structure out of the strokeplay. He seemed composed beyond his years and took on the LSG bowlers from the moment he walked out to bat. He hit boundaries all over the park and kept an excellent strike rate as he seemed untroubled at the crease.

Sooryavansi got good support from the rest of the RR batters who prevented the required run rate from ever getting that difficult. That partnership in the middle overs turned things completely around for Rajasthan. RR had a flurry of boundaries, with LSG bowlers unable to stop the flow of runs.

Although the young batter was dismissed for 93, just short of a century, by then he had already inflicted most of the damage. Rajasthan Royals chased down the target, winning by three wickets at home with five balls to spare, after reaching 221 for 3.

There was a lot of excitement initially over the innings from cricket aficionados and pundits alike. Sooryavanshi was also complimented for his composure and courageous batting in a high-pressure game like this. Even Lucknow Super Giants coach Justin Langer praised the teenager after the match and said he was a special player set for greater things.

The win also gave Rajasthan Royals a great boost in the race for reaching the IPL 2026 playoffs. But more importantly, the game might be remembered as the night a future star of cricket introduced himself on T20’s biggest stage.
